I made this delicious bread as an excuse to use one of my favorite milk stouts in a recipe. It's really easy to make, as literally all you have to do is mix all the ingredients in well. No special equipment.

I made this delicious bread as an excuse to use one of my favorite milk stouts in a recipe. It's really easy to make, as literally all you have to do is mix all the ingredients in well. No special equipment.

Instructions

  1. Small 107822 2f2015 03 05 182938 img 5275

The ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350.

  2. Small 107822 2f2015 03 05 182948 img 5278

I didn’t have any chocolate chips, so I chopped up a bar of chocolate into small pieces.

  3. Small 107822 2f2015 03 05 182957 img 5279

Add the flour, salt, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, cornstarch, and chocolate chips stir to combine.

  4. Small 107822 2f2015 03 05 183008 img 5280

Pour in the stout, oil and 2 tbs of the melted butter, stir until just combined, some lumps are expected.

  5. Small 107822 2f2015 03 05 183019 img 5283

This is a very dense batter so if you’re having some trouble with it don’t worry.

  6. Small 107822 2f2015 03 05 183121 img 5284

Pour into a loaf pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Pour the remaining butter over the top.

  7. Small 107822 2f2015 03 05 183134 img 5290

Bake at 350 for 40 to 45 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs on it.

After about 15 minutes of cooling cut it up and serve to all of your impatiently waiting friends. PS next time I make this I'm putting chocolate icing on it!
