About

We were given this old cupboard by our neighbour, cuz they were cleaning out, and my family never used it. And i have always had an obsession with Japan and especially cherry blossoms, so i decided i would give it a little makeover...

I am an amateur at painting,so bare with me..

You Will Need (7 things)

  • Old Or New Cupboard Furniture
  • Variation Of Pink Paint Eg) Purple , Fuschia Etc
  • White Base Coat Paint / Primer
  • Duster / Cloth
  • Patience
  • Sand Paper
  • All Purpose Cleaner

Steps (6 steps, 360 minutes)

  1. 1

So this is what i started with...
wait till you see the inside...

  2. 2

So first, i got out the sand paper and gave it a quick sand, and then i got the duster and cloth with some all purpose cleaner, and went to town!

( this pic is after i did all that)

  3. 3

Next, i waited for the all purpose or any wetness to dry, and started on the base coat, here's where all the well-needed patience comes in, unlucky for me, i have none. I did 2 coats of base, with about 30 mins in between, i painted shelves too, because i am painting those as well.

P.S - Make sure you use newspaper or something to keep paint from going everywhere

If your a gifted painter ( unlike me) then this'll be easy peasy, but i took about 2 hours for this part..
first i took a fuschia and mixed it with lots of white, i did 3 coats cuz it's acrylic (i know you should'nt paint with acrylic but what the hey), Then i outlined the frame in a darker colour.

  5. 5

The top of my cupboard was falling off, so i re-attached that in the mean-time with some nails and a hammer. Anyways, once the paint has dried, and your all relaxed, you can start painting the cherry blossoms. Im a first-time painter so they aren't perfect, lol.

I just went along with the pic in my head, but you can go on the net and find some that you like..

    And voila, your done!
I use mine to store my sewing machine and kit in.

    Hope you like...
