Cherry & Almond Squares
This is a very adaptable recipe.
You can make these bars using any sort of jam you have.
You could also eliminate the almond extract & sliced almonds.
It is an easy recipe to make.

Step 1Melt butter.
Heat oven 170 degrees.

Step 2Add white chocolate to butter & leave aside to melt.

Step 3Whisk eggs & almond extract until light & fluffy.

Step 4Add sugar to eggs & combine.

Step 5Stir butter & chocolate together.

Step 6Add butter mixture to egg mixture & combine.

Step 7Stir in salt & flour.

Step 8Pour half mixture into tin & bake for approx 20 mins.

Step 9Heat jam in pot.

Step 10Pour over baked base. Do not go straight to the edge. Leave a space.

Step 11Mix chocolate chips into remaining batter & spoon over the jam.

Step 12Bake for approx 15 mins.
Pour over the sliced almonds & cook for approx 10 more mins.

Step 13Remove from the oven & allow to cool completely.

Step 14Cut into squares.
Serve.
