Cheerful pen holders made out of lolly sticks
It’s almost holiday time! This DIY project will be fun to craft with your children this summer. These super cheery, animal pen holders are simple to make by painting, glueing and decorating basic materials. Set to work with ice lolly sticks, acrylic paint, satin ribbon, painted wooden animals and googly eyes to make pen holders that will brighten up any art table or child’s desk. A perfect back-to-school project for getting the desk ready and prepared for the start of a new school year. Follow the steps below to make one of these vibrant pots yourself.

You Will Need

Step 1Paint the outside of the box in the same colour as the lolly sticks.

Step 2Glue the lolly sticks to one side of the box.

Step 3Place the box lolly stick-side down and weigh it down so that it dries flat. Continue glueing in the same way on the other 3 sides.

Step 4Glue on the wooden figure and tie a ribbon around it in a bow.

Step 5Stick the googly eyes onto the figures.
