Cheddar Broccoli Tots

These Cheddar Broccoli Tots are a sure fire way to get even the pickiest of eaters to enjoy vegetables. Made with fresh broccoli, breadcrumbs and cheddar cheese, they get nice and crisp in the air fryer or oven and are fun to dip in ranch, ketchup or any other favorite sauce!

You Will Need (10 things)

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Egg White
  • 2 chopped Green Onions
  • ½ cup reduced fat Cheddar Cheese
  • ½ cup Italian seasoned Breadcrumbs
  • ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
  • ¼ tsp Onion Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 12 oz (about 4 cups) Broccoli florets
  • Pepper to taste

Steps (6 steps, 30 minutes)

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add broccoli and cook for 1 minute or until broccoli is very tender. Strain and rinse with cold water

    Chop cooked broccoli into fine pieces and add them to a medium sized bowl

    Add egg, egg white, green onion, cheese, breadcrumbs, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the bowl. Stir well to combine

    Form mixture into about 28 “tot shapes”

    To make in oven: spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and bake tots at 375 degrees for about 16 minutes, tots should be browning

    To make in air fryer: preheat fryer to 390 degrees for 3 minutes. Spray basket with cooking spray, add tots to basket (you will likely have to do this step in batches, I did mine in 2), spray tops with more cooking spray and air fry for 4 minutes. Tots should be crispy and browned
