You Will Need (9 things)
- Blank Card
- Self-healing Cutting Mat
- Craft Knife
- 1 Sheet of colored Paper (for the background)
- Glue or adhesive double-sided tape
- Sticky Tape
- Scissor
- Eraser
- 1 Sheet of red, blue & yellow colored Paper (for the medal)
Steps (13 steps, 30 minutes)
-
1
Draw a picture frame on the card’s front side. Make sure the pencil lines are very thin, so you can easily remove them later.
Draw a human shape, starting from the bottom side of the frame. Draw a head and upper body part which are attached to each other.
-
2
Cut out the inner area of the picture frame with a craft knife. Remove all visible pencil lines.
-
3
Grab the waste card paper. Cut out two paper stripes of 1.6 inch (4 cm) x 0.2 inch (5 mm).
-
4
Take the red & blue colored paper sheets and cut out two paper stripes of 1.6 inch (4 cm) x 0.1 inch (3 mm).
-
5
Glue a red & blue paper strip on both sides of a white paper strip. Do this also with the other white paper strip.
-
6
Put both strips upside down on the card’s front side. Measure where they should appear on the human shape (shoulder) and make the strips come together like a V shape. Attach these two parts by gluing them together or use sticky tape.
-
7
Cut off the edges a bit to make it look realistic.
-
8
Cut out a small bowl, a bar and a big circle (the medal) from a sheet of yellow colored paper and glue them together.
-
9
Glue the medal onto the ribbon shape.
-
10
Cut off the ribbon paper which is standing out on the shoulder parts.
-
11
Take a sheet of colored paper (the person's favorite color) and put the card’s backside on top of it. Draw a border around it with a pencil, so you can estimate the card’s measurements.
-
12
Draw number ones or stars in the area with a pencil. To make them all look the same, you could make a template, cut it out and trace it with a pencil several times.
-
13
Cut out the drawn shapes and glue the sheet to the card inside (or use double-sided adhesive tape).
Cut off the excess paper and your card is ready!
