Quick & Easy Cell Phone Sling for beginning crocheters!
I made this for my BFF for her birthday. She has a big heavy cell phone, and rarely has pockets to put it in. I made this for her to use when she doesn't have pockets, so she won't misplace her cell phone!

  • Step 1

Determine the size of the cell phone versus the length you want to make the sling. Single stitch (I used hook G/6-4.25 MM) to the length of what you want the main portion of the bag to be.

  • Step 2

Double stitch the width of the "bag", determine how "wide" you will need it. Double stitch one row more than you need to just cover the phone.

  • Step 3

When finished with steps 2 & 3, fold the material in half, and stitch the bottom and side seam by pulling the yarn through the stitch holes along the edges.

  • Step 4

Determine how long you want the "sling" strap. I made mine to sit on the chest, or you can make it longer to wear like a purse (see photo), or you can make it to wear in sling fashion. Single stitch to the length you need, then double stitch once along that length.

  • Step 5

When finished with step 4, attach the "sling" strap like you did to put the seams together in step 3. When finished, turn bag inside out to hide the seams.

  • Step 6

Add a few decorative buttons to the front (I attached mine using sewing thread and large sewing needle so I could have a "thick" band of thread holding the buttons in place, then I knotted them good, cutting off excess thread).
