a cool way to keep the phone on me whatever I'm wearing!
Having been given a more delicate phone than my previous RUGBY, I decided that to keep my phone on my person all the time at work I needed a new carrier so I could avoid putting it in my back pocket. This case was an adaptation of a simple case I saw on the web, on Warehouse Fabrics Inc, Blog, called the Lined Gadget Case. Sadly, it doesn't seem to be there any more, but there are others out there. My contribution was to make the straps changeable. I can hang it from my belt or belt loop or on a long cross-body strap. I put a pocket on the back for a little money or the earbuds/mic a plastic card.
Where the original tutorial has you put a d ring in a short piece of strap and include that in the top seam attaching the lining to the outside on one side, you do that on both sides. Then make a short and a long strap, and attach the swivel key hooks to both ends of both straps.
Be careful when planning your pouch to make it wide enough for your phone to slide easily in and out--the batting and seam allowances take up space and make it snugger than you expect. My Velcro isn't beautiful, luckily it's rarely seen. I made this last weekend and I love it already! I made it out of stuff that was already in my sewing room.
