Our neighbours cat, Precious likes to come and hang out with us, so I made him a little toy.
Our neighbours cat, Precious likes to come and hang out with us, so I made him a little toy.
Ask your cat what it's favorite animal is. Precious said he wanted a mouse.
Make yourself a template, my one was just an oval shape with flat edges. Draw around your template on the brown felt 3 times.
Cut the shapes out and pin together around the edges, so that it creates a 3D shape.
Sew around the edges, removing the pins as you go. Leave one of the ends unstitched, so that you can turn it inside out when you're finished sewing.
Turn the shape inside out.
Cut a small, wide rectangle of fabric.
Fold in half and sew around the edges, leaving a small gap.
Tell the kitty to be patient and stop interrupting your sewing.
Fill with catnip and then sew up the remaining gap.
Push the catnip pouch inside the mouse body and fill with stuffing.
Cut a length of black cord, slip it inside the mouse and then sew up the remaining opening.
Make a template in the shape of a mouse ear and draw out on to grey felt twice.
Stitch these on to either side of the mouse with a needle and thread. I made a small stitch in the middle of the ears to make them bunch up.
Cut two small black circles of felt and stitch at either side for eyes.
Cut a circle of pink felt and stitch on for the nose.
Cut off any loose threads and you're ready to go.
Give to the kitty!
