I made this bags. It`s really cool, a great way to recycle old magazines and newspapers. Did you waterproof the bag? You can do that by taping each rectangle with scotch tape. Also the bag looks shiny

I make these as well, but I use a different template for the rectangles, 2inches by 4 1/2inches. But I love making them, they look gorgeous in the end!

Thanks so much for the tut! I saw a similar pencil case at Barnes & Noble the other day and was just wondering how to make one for myself.

Cool!! I have made one from old magazines, which is partially done, just need to add some type of closure. I have another one I've been working on made from chip bags. Yeah, I learned how to put the chains together watching one of my fav craft shows. You beat me to the how-to, so thanx, saves me the trouble. Haha! LOL

not a lot of tutorials for this on the net...thx for sharing! I have wanted to make one of these for 2 years now and have enough chip bags to probably make 20 purses. Im just afraid I will get fustrated and give up. The sewing together of the chains is the bit that scares me I will try this someday (soon hopefully)

I'm so glad someone has put a how-to up for this! I have been working on one for a while now, and it is nearly finished. All I need is a zipper, and I was thinking about finding a way to sew it in, but I just might try the super-glue.
