Those bromine and barium symbols in the credits were just begging to become not-so-fuzzy dice for a rear view mirror. Don't you think?

Description

Those bromine and barium symbols in the credits were just begging to become not-so-fuzzy dice for a rear view mirror. Don't you think?

Instructions

  1. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020315 img 1369

    Gather materials.

  2. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020328 img 1370

Draw letters on twill patch and carefully cut out.

  3. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020402 img 1372

Cut 24 3.25-inch squares of fabric and 12 3-inch squares of interfacing. Iron letters onto two green squares.

  4. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020453 img 1373

Sandwich each piece of interfacing between two pieces of green fabric.

  5. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020515 img 1374

    Pin them all in place.

  6. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020528 img 1375

Sew squares together into two "T" shapes. Then begin folding into a cube, sewing one edge seam at a time, until only one edge seam remains open. Gently (and awkwardly) turn right-side-out.

  7. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020608 img 1379

Cut yarn into three 20-inch strands, and safety pin pants or tape to table to hold in place.

  8. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020657 img 1380

    Braid fairly tightly.

  9. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020711 img 1381

Insert each end of braid into a corner of one die. Hand-stitch last edge seam of each die.

  10. Small 101454 2f2014 05 02 020848 img 1383

    Display with pride.
