This is a very simple braid that would be perfect for school or a day at the office or even the beach, to keep it out of your face but look pretty at the same time!
Start with a section of hair in the center front of the head.
Divide the hair into three equal sections
Cross the left section over the middle, then the right section over the middle (begin a three strand braid).
Take a section from the front (not a slice all the way through the hair, just a chunk from the hairline) and add it to the left side piece and cross the whole thing over the middle. This is what is called a mermaid braid. It's a lot like a French braid but as stated before, you are taking chunks of hair from the hairline rather than slices all the way through the hair.
Repeat step four on the right side.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 one or two more times, or until you have reached the desired braid length.
Finish off by doing a three strand braid to the ends of the hair and tying off with an elastic. You are done!
