So I saw the tutorial on how to make a pendant out of old cds, but once I finished I found that too simple and not exactly what I was looking for so I played around with this to make an uber cool bracelet! Be careful with the sharp pieces! Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I'm pretty sure you guys wil be able to figure this very simple project out. Also, for some reason the things you need list got screwed up, you only need one of each of the mentioned things.

Steps (5 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Gather up a few of your old cds, for the above bracelet I used four CDs. But you could definitely do it with just one CD, I just wanted to make it multicolored. The first step is to simply cut the CD into pieces. You can use just regular scissors for this job. I cannot stress enough that these pieces can hurt like mess if you're not careful!

Now you will have a ton of little pieces to work with. Pick out the ones you like and file down the sharp edges with a nail file (optional but highly reccomended).

  3. 3

The next step is to make two holes in each piece as shown in the illustration. I did this with a pocketknife, but I've been told an exacto knife would also do the trick. This takes a bit of work, but it gets easier after a couple of holes I promise.

Now thread the elastic cord through the pieces. You can either make the loop on the front of the pieces or the back. I did mine so it was on the back because I felt it looked neater, but it is your choice. When you get the elastic all the way through tie the ends together. Some of your pieces may flip over but once you put it on it is quite easy to make adjustments.

All done mates! Now if you didn't file down the sharp edges earlier now is the time to do that. I did not and later discovered this lovely scratch down my arm...not fun!
