Customize your earrings!
I gave these to my mom for christmas. They are very easy to make and you can put any picture you want in them!

  • How to make a bottle cap earring. Bottlecap Earrings - Step 1
    Step 1

Place your bottle caps face down and spray them the color of your choice. You can paint them by hand if you want. Spray painting just makes more of an even surface.

    Let them dry.

(I didn't take pictures while I was doing it :P do you like my drawings? :) )

  • How to make a bottle cap earring. Bottlecap Earrings - Step 2
    Step 2

Place your bottlecap face up on your picture of choice and trace around it.

  • How to make a bottle cap earring. Bottlecap Earrings - Step 3
    Step 3

Cut out the circle you have traced and laminate it. I just laminated mine with tape. Then press it down into the bottom of the bottle cap.

    Step 4

Take diamond glaze or I think resin might work if you have it. Dip your paintbrush in the glaze and let it drizzle into the bottle cap until it is filled halfway.

(just pouring from the jar is messy!)

Let dry. It might take a few days to dry depending on what glaze you use.

  • How to make a bottle cap earring. Bottlecap Earrings - Step 5
    Step 5

Glue an earring back to each of the bottle caps with hot glue and let dry. Tada!!! My mom does not have her ears pierced so that is why I used clip ons but studs work just as well. Enjoy!!!

    :)

Now I just need to find the clip on pieces. I cannot wear earrings as i tend to get infections. I would like to start wearing more earrings though, but there doesn't really seem to be a lot of clip on earrings anymore.... at least not modern enough to wear. Earrings seem too geared to having pierced ears nowadays. Love this tutorial. Gives me an idea of something to try.

I just faved these. I've been collecting bottle tops for a while now. I'm planning to do something similar but making them into fridge magnets. What's diamond glaze by the way? Is this something from the States - i've not seen it in England? Incidentally, you may like to take a look at my blog at www.beadbarmy.com. As well as lots of other stuff, it has some video tutorials if you are planning to venture further into beading!
