Instructions

  1. Small 2018 01 11 213220 img 6726

Roughly sketch out the size you'd like your stamp to be in your sketchbook and then trace over the design neatly onto tracing paper. I've included my design in the attachments if you want to copy it.

  2. Small 2018 01 11 213224 img 6729

    Get an eraser.

  3. Small 2018 01 11 213407 snapseed

Place the tracing paper, pencil side down, on your eraser and rub over the design to transfer it.

  4. Small 2018 01 11 213237 img 6732

Remove the tracing paper to reveal your design.

  5. Small 2018 01 11 213259 img 6734

Use a carving tool to cut around the outline of your stamp.

  6. Small 2018 01 11 213306 img 6737

Now carve out the spines of the books.

  7. Small 2018 01 11 213334 img 6738

Finally add some little nicks for the pages.

  8. Small 2018 01 11 213313 img 6740

    Ink up your stamp.

  9. Small 2018 01 11 213349 img 6743

Test it out by printing on paper. You can print multiple times to create a stack of books.

  10. Small 2018 01 11 213400 img 6926

Write the titles of the books your reading on the spines and then use the space to the right to note down all the chapter numbers. Circle the current chapters you're on and cross out the ones you've completed.
