These are easy to make from start Calzones.

You can add which ever filling suits you.

You Will Need (13 things)

  • 15 oz '00'flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Yeast
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 9 fl oz Water Tepid
  • Filling

  • Mince
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Mushroom(s)
  • Tomato Passata
  • Cheese

Steps (18 steps, 120 minutes)

    Chop onions and garlic.

    Brown mince, garlic & onions.

  3. 3

    Add pasata & cook through.

    Chop mushrooms

  5. 5

    Add mushrooms to sauce.

    Cook out until liquid has almost all evaporated.

    Add the yeast to the water.

    Allow to sit for approx 5 mins.

    Allow sauce to cool completely.

    Make dough...

    Add flour, salt & sugar to a bowl. Stir to combine.

    Make a well in the centre add oil.

    Add the yeast mixture to the flour.

    Knead until the dough comes together in a smooth ball.

    Cover with cling film & allow to rise for approx 1 hr.

    Once the dough has risen, knock it back.

    Knead for a few mins.

    Divided into portions.

    Roll out into a roughly round shape.

    Half fill the dough with the cooled mince & sauce.

    Sprinkle with cheese.

    Fold the dough over on top of the filling.

    Seal with a little water around the edge.

    Fold the edge over & crimp closed.

    Heat the oven 180 degrees.

    Cook for approx 25-30 mins until cooked through.

    Serve on its own or with pasta or fries.
