Description

This nail art requires a bit of free-hand skill and some creativity, but is a great place for beginning nail artists to begin branching out into free-hand work.

Instructions

  1. Small 2 p2201006

Prep your nails and apply base coat. Let dry. Apply your neutral base color and let dry. I am using OPI My Vampire Is Buff.

  2. Small 3 p2201009

Using a large dotting tool, create round shapes of color. These will become your flowers. Gently press your dotting tool to the nail and make a circular motion to create a round shape slightly larger than the dotting tool. Aim to make two or three flowers on each nail. Here, I am using OPI Can't Find My Czechbook.

  3. Small 4 p2201011

Using a large dotting tool, make a dot of color in the center of each flower. Here I've used OPI My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours.

  4. Small 5 p2201016

Using a small dotting tool, make another dot of color in the center of each flower. I used a darker shade, I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw.

  5. Small 6 p2201019

Using a black striper (or black polish and a striping brush), make a small curved line from each flower. This is your stem. Be thoughtful about the placement so that they do not overlap. I've used my go-to: It's So Easy StripeRite in black.

  6. Small 7 p2201023

Again using the striper, create a small triangular shape on each stem. This is a leaf!

  7. Small 8 p2201026

Using a small dotting tool and black polish, outline each flower with small black dots. The smaller and more delicate the better, but they do not have to be perfect. I've used Wet N Wild Wild Shine Black Creme.

  8. Small 9 p2201043

To finish the design and make each nail appear to have an all-over design, fill in any blank space with colorful dots. I used OPI Suzi's Hungary Again!, which really pops!

  9. Small 2 p2130809

Clean-up your cuticles using acetone and an angled eye-liner brush. To avoid smearing, apply top coat when the design is completely dry.
