Instructions

  1. Small img 1730

Get your supplies: I bought 2 sizes of the tubing since I wasn't too sure if the one originally needed would work. I have 2 different sizes of bobbins anyay. I would highly suggest bringing your bobbins to the hardware store to check if the diameter will work. If you can and they sell it by the inch or foot, start with the least amount they'll allow. I got 6" of both. I got one that's a 9/16"x3/8" diameter and one that's a little smaller and thinner but with a 1/2 " diameter.

With your xacto knife, carefully slice open the tubing

  3. Small img 1721

Using your bobbin as a guide to measure out how much to cut

  4. Small img 1729

I found that spreading out the tubing and with a pair of scissors cut the tubing to the size you want worked better than trying to cut through the whole thing at once. Especially if you got tubing that's really thick.

You should end up with something like this

  6. Small img 1740

wrap around your bobbin keeping the threads wound....

you should end up with a clear casing of tubing around your bobbin. And no stray threads! Done! (Now if they sold tubing with a diameter to fit around thread spools, I just may do it to a few of those as well.)
