Holy Hot Damn, it’s boba tea time! I have a deep and abiding love for boba tea that you normally only find in girls who wear fox tails in public and talk about their World of Warcraft boyfriends, and I have no shame about it. I love the stuff and frequently meet with Jess (about once a week or so) to gulp some down. This is the easy to make stuff for homebodies who don't have a boba shop around them!

I made my tea a couple of hours before hand by mixing three packets of the tea mix with the requisite amount of hot water and allowing it to chill thoroughly. I didn’t want to have to wait on it to cool when I knew I would already be making the pearls and I didn’t want to have to water down my drinks with ice.
Make your pearls as per the packages instructions. For me that was bringing a pot of water to boil, gently dropping in the pearls, allowing them to cook for 5 minutes, turning off the heat and allowing to sit for another five minutes then taking them out and placing them into cold water for 20 seconds, then transferring them to a clean bowl and covering with about a teaspoon of sugar.
Once your pearls have absorbed all of the sweetener that you’ve chosen to use, place them into the glasses that you intend to serve your tea in.
Then just pour over your chilled tea, add ice if you would like, and serve.
