You Will Need (1 thing)

  • 18 Oreo Cookies

Steps (9 steps, 20 minutes)

  1. 1

Gather your ingredients. Please don't forget your cookies like I forgot them in the picture!
Preheat your veggie oil to 375 degrees. (Put small drops of water into the oil. The oil will pop and crackle for a short time, when it stops it should be just about right!)

  2. 2

    Prepare the batter.
Whisk together the milk and the egg in one of your mixing bowls until well blended. (I use a whisk, but a fork is no different.)

  3. 3

Mix all dry ingredients in your other mixing bowl. Slowly add your dry ingredients to the milk and egg mixture while whisking.

  4. 4

Your batter should be relatively thick.

  5. 5

Now your oil is hot, and your batter is ready to be put to use.
    Gather your Oreos!
This recipe makes about 18 fried Oreos, which is WAY more than you want to eat alone. I can only eat two or three myself, but I just didn't want to waste the batter!

  6. 6

Dip your cookies one by one into the batter. Flip and dip the other side.

  7. 7

Place your cookies into the hot oil, only cooking 4 - 5 at a time to avoid the cookies sticking together. I'm sure I don't have to tell you guys this, but BE CAREFUL! I've been scarred by enough hot oil splatter to know.

  8. 8

Use your judgment for this part. Fry the cookies until they are golden brown on the underside (this is about 30 seconds for me).
Use your spatula to flip them and fry them on the other side.
Take them out and drain and cool them on paper towels.

  9. 9

Put them on a plate; sprinkle those babies with a little powdered sugar, brown sugar, syrup or whatever you like.
Serve them to your friends and family and enjoy a few yourself!
