This is my attempt at the headband worn by Blind Mag (from Repo! The Genetic Opera) in Sanitarium Square. A couple issues: I rushed a little bit, and hence it's not perfect, but I do like it and I will definitely wear it. I realized that, since my headband was sort of thin, thinner than the width of three studs, I'd need a support, so I used cardboard. I'll explain it in detail further down on the page. Otherwise, it was quite simple to do! And it's lovely, while also being a little bit edgy!

Studs are important. You can always use whichever studs you want- I wanted to keep with the pyramid studs, but when I chose mine, I got smaller-than-typical ones. They worked out fine :) I got mine for $10.00 for a little bag of 100 studs at a leather store. I found they were kind of slippery, though. xD Sorry for the terrible pictures.
Start in one corner of your fabric and poke both prongs of the stud in, like I have here, I show both front and back. Just a tip, once it's in and it's fairly straight, DON'T LET IT GO until BOTH PRONGS ARE FOLDED DOWN. XP They WILL slip out on you when you have one prong folded and it's difficult to get back in, you have to unfold it.
I used some old black broadcloth, which turned out well- the knit isn't too tight that you can't force the studs through it, but not so loose that they destroy the fabric if you make a mistake. I started arranging my studs in the corner- after examining hers, I counted 3 studs by 8 studs.
Keep going until you're there! It gets painful- if you can figure out some clever way of doing this other than using your fingers, go for it D: -cuddles her sore fingertips- For harder ones, I pushed them against a flat surface, like my desk. It's definitely fiddly work- the studs are so slippery, I'd end up piercing them into the fabric lopsided. XP
Cut a piece of cardboard in a rectangle that is as close to the size of your patch of studs as possible. Glue your studs down, and fold the excess borders of your material around the cardboard. Glue. You should have a fairly solid, yet still flexible piece of studded goodness. Position it on your headband where you like and glue.
Voila! Try it on, see if you like it. Some stubborn bits or studs can be prodded into submission with a little bit of patience and maybe a toothpick and some hot glue. Mine are definitely not perfect and definitely not straight, but I like how it turned out, and nobody's going to notice when it's on. Don't mind my face D:
