So I really wanted to try a sweater and someone suggested I try one from the "Weekend Knitting" book from Melanie Falick. (http://www.melaniefalickbooks.com/weekend-knitting-gallery/weekend-knitting-gallery/) So with all my supplies and needles in tow and going over the instructions and slowly following the instructions, this took me a good week. (Of course if work weren't an issue perhaps less). I ran into a few kinks down the road, pull outs and re-do's but finally finished and quite happy with the result. Almost want to make another one. But I would like to have started with a garter stitch or a rib since the stockinette stitch tends to roll....hence why I added a 2x2 rib on the cuffs. But for those wanting to make the jump into a first sweater this is a good starter book/instruction. The pattern is fairly simple.
