I chose a bento for my sister's birthday, with all accessories and a cooking book...but there was no bag with it, so I made one. Here is how I did it ^^ Sorry, I'm a total beginner at sewing, so people with more experience will probably find I'm doing it all the wrong way. but it works !

I chose a bento for my sister's birthday, with all accessories and a cooking book...but there was no bag with it, so I made one. Here is how I did it ^^ Sorry, I'm a total beginner at sewing, so people with more experience will probably find I'm doing it all the wrong way. but it works !

Instructions

  1. Small bentotuto1 1273097006

Cut your pieces of fabric. measure around your bento and take a slightly larger measurement for the circumference of your circle. The sides of the rectangles should be equal to it. The width of the rectangles is a little more than the length of your bento divided by 2.

  2. Small bentotuto2 1273097226

Sew the 2 rectangles together lengthwise, outside against outside.

  3. Small bentotuto3 1273097313

Sew the hem of the upper side of the rectangle. It should be large enough for you to pierce holes in it. After having pierced the holes, secure them (I handstitch it like I do to make a buttonhole, for example. I don't know the technical term ^^" )

  4. Small bentotuto4 1273097466

Pin carefully together, outside against outside again, the circle and the bottom part of the rectangle. then sew them together.

  5. Small bentotuto5 1273097552

All you have to do now is sew the sides together...

  6. Small bentotuto6 1273097613

flip it inside out (or rather outside in here) and you're almost done. Slip a ribbon in the holes and make a bow to close your pouch, and sew a nice button or decorate as you wish =)
