OK, I thought this was really cool until I realized that it was a real skull and then I was just creep out. It is still awesome though.

Hm, I haven't used a ring in this project, (that's in step two which is unpublished as of yet) I just used the clear coat of nail polish to add some shine.

I have a guinea pig skull on top of my work table. But like someone else mentioned I cant bring myself to paint it. I also have a project on my page called Faulig, hes made with possum teeth. I really like this project

What an awesome project!! Happy I have a small handful of various small mammal skulls... no bird skulls though :< Still, this is a very cool idea and if I ever get a skull that would look cool as a necklace/whatever else, I'll probably do this process with it ;D

This is really awesome. I love bones and skulls and things like that, and find them from time to time in my own backyard.
It would never have occured to me to do anything like this with them though.
Awesome idea!

When I found the skull it had already decomposed and there was pretty much nothing except a tiny bit on the beak. I just posted the link to the cleaning site because even with nothing on it, it needs to be properly cleaned. I have a huge garden in the middle of nowhere, and so I find bones all the time. ^^

i like it but i don't think i'd be up for cleaning the skull. it just seem not right for some reason. hey if you have a pet bird and it dies this is a great way to remember it. wear its skull around your neck.Happy

That's pretty lucky that you found that nice of a skull, it looks really good, hopefully no pieces break off

That's awesome! Way to reuse and recycle ;) . I don't think it's creepy, the idea of buying a plastic one is weirder to me o_O

just a little tiny question... you didnt REALLY remove flesh and eyes and brain from the head of a cute birdy that you found apart from the body in your garden?!
i would never ever be able to do that...

That's really cool! I think i'd rather have the plastic skull myself though. Something about having the real thing makes my skin go all creepy-crawly! Happy
