• 

  Step 1

  trace or draw your butterfly on heavy clear plastic.

• 

  Step 2

  cut out your image on the outside of the black if you want black around it or on the inside if you do not.

• 

  Step 3

  draw a line down the center and design one wing

• 

  Step 4

  fold in half on the line and then copy the first wings design onto the second folded over wing.

• 

  Step 5

  color it in with the markers and remember it is a mirror image. It is a good idea to use wax paper to color or in so the side face down does not stick to the surface. I like to color and mod podge both sides...but that's just me.

• 

  Step 6

  you want to paint the wings with a thin coating of mod podge. you want to repeat steps 5 and 6 2 or 3 times to insure the color and depth of color. Let dry in between each coating I find three is best.

  Step 7

  I used flower pistons as the antenna I just happened to have them in many colors so black worked best.
  I used just a bit of hot glue to attach the antenna.

  Step 8

  that's it now you can do things with it....like....attach it to a rock for a paper weight. Put it on a barrette or use a pipe cleaner to attach it to your plants a hat....string with clear fishing wire and put in a window or make a child's mobile....and you can make anything not just butterflies!!!!!

  no pic yet but I have been putting glitter on the edges and on some of the color for pop....so beautiful also going to try wire with beads for the legs and attachers...pictures coming soon
