Beaded Cross

Make an easy beaded cross

Any age can make this by varying the size of the beads and the wire. You can even use thread or cord.

You Will Need (3 things)

  • Bead(s) 10 large, 40 small
  • 2 ft of Craft or Jewelry Wire
  • Wire Cutters

Steps (11 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

    Slide three acrylic beads, one pony bead and three acrylic beads to the center of your wire.

    Slide another pony bead on one side. Slide both wires through it and center above first pony bead.

    Slide three acrylic beads on both sides and a pony bead on one side. Slide both ends through the pony beads and center it above the others.

    Repeat Step 3.

    One one side, slide on an acrylic bead, a pony bead, three acrylic beads, a pony bead and three acrylic beads.

    Bring the end of the wire down and around and back through the first pony bead.

    Tighten the beads.

    Repeat for the other side.

    Add an acrylic bead to each side and a pony bead on one side. Slide the other wire through the pony bead.

    Add three acrylic beads to each side, a pony bead to one side and slide the other wire through the pony bead.

    Finish the cross by twisting the wires together and making a loop with the remaining wire.
    This cross was made with large hole beads and plastic-coated craft wire. It's great for kids or for those who need easier wire with which to work. You can make this with smaller glass beads and jewelry wire. You can also make it with thread and two-needles and seed beads.
    To wear it as a necklace, string it on a chain or cord. It also makes a nice ornament.
