for those not so interesting beads that may need a little extra umph. I'm upping the time a bit 'cause some times late at night things go a little slower. Note, if you have any questions, feel free to ask...again, I apologize if it gets fuzzy around the edges.

Description

for those not so interesting beads that may need a little extra umph. I'm upping the time a bit 'cause some times late at night things go a little slower. Note, if you have any questions, feel free to ask...again, I apologize if it gets fuzzy around the edges.

Instructions

  1. Small img 0014 1234236757

First get all your supplies ready. Size 12 needle, some nymo thread, 2 colors (or more) of Seedbeads, and one large bead that you'll be covering.

  2. Small img 0048 1234236851

First string on 10 beads. You can alternate colors or use just one color. And bring to the end of your string and tie into a circle using a double knot.

  3. Small img 0049 1234236939

for now don't cut off the tail just yet.

  4. Small img 0053 1234237069

Go through one bead and pick up 3 and go through the 3rd bead. Then pick up another 3, and go through the next 3rd bead on your loop.

  5. Small img 0054 1234237085

should slowly start looking like this. Continue this until you are back to where you started.

  6. Small img 0056 1234237403

Now pick up 3 more and go through the 3rd bead of the row that you just finished. Basically step 4 all over again.

  7. Small img 0057 1234237429

you should have something that looks like this

  8. Small img 0058 1234237464

Alrighty now, pick up 7! Take that and go through the middle (or 2nd bead) of the 3 you just put on. (On the row you just finished.)

  9. Small img 0059 1234237576

Continue this all around until it starts looking more like a star with 5 points.

  10. Small img 0060 1234237682

your star with 5 points for now

  11. Small img 0061 1234237757

ok, pick up another 7 beads. I used alternating colors and sizes to make it easy to see where you may want to put your next bead in.

  12. Small img 0062 1234237789

Now take those 7 and go through one of your points of your star. (4th bead) Pick up another 7 and thread into the next point. Continue all the way around.

  13. Small img 0063 1234237872

Should look like this. Now come out of your second bead of that last row you've just done. Pick up 3 beads and go through the 6th bead of that row. In my case. I'm coming in and out of the two larger shiny pink beads.

  14. Small img 0064 1234238408

continue all the way around and kinda pull on it and you'll notice it start to cup, which is fine. You should have 10 tiers of 3 beads on your last row. Come out of the 2nd bead of the last round you've made and put away for now. Now for the bottom bead. 'cause you'll need to make one to connect to.

  15. Small img 0045 1234238771

string your second needle and 10 beads. go through one bead, pick up 3 and go through the following 3rd bead of that row of 10. come out of the 2nd bead of the row you just did and pick up 5! Go through the following 2nd bead of that last row. In my case I'm aiming for the pinks. And now you should have a smaller 5 pointed star! But don't cut your thread, and keep your needle threaded.

  16. Small img 0066 1234239467

Now back to your larger bead, Pick up 10 beads and keep in mind of the direction that you're coming out of that second bead, get your smaller star and go through the first point (my case the pink bead/3rd bead) to attatch. Make sure that you are going in the those anchor beads the same direction, as if in a larger circle,or else you'll have a twist, and for now we don't want a twist. After going through the 3rd bead of the point of the smaller star, pick up 10 and back into the point you started - Something like this.

  17. Small img 0067 1234239863

Now go through all your beads until you come out of the next point of the larger star, that would be the 8th bead. And pick up another 10 and do the same as the previous step. Continue 1/2 way until you have about 2-3 links and shove your larger bead in. If all is good, and your larger bead fits in there fairly taught without any of the links looking like it's missing any beads, then continue and close. If not, you may have to increase the amount of beads you use in the link, or just find a larger bead that fits for 10 bead link. It all really depends on your choice of bead sizes. But otherwise continue until the bead is caged in and all 5 points are attatched.

  18. Small img 0073 1234240530

Finishing, that tail that I told you not to cut, you can cut, just don't cut the knot! But the tail with the needle attatched, start going back through into the star and weaving in and around until you feel that your end won't come out. As you do this, it starts to tighten everything up a bit so that you don't have any looseness. Do this for both stars and then cut off your tail! And you have a beaded bead!
