  • How to make a play book. Bead Counting Quiet Book Page - Step 1
    Step 1

Organise the beads so you have all the numbers from 1 to 10 and thread them on to bakers twine/string/ribbon.

    Step 2

Mark on your felt for the main page where the ends of the strings of beads will go. I then punched holes as the twine wouldn't go through itself.

  • Step 3

Put all the strings through the correct holes. I then added some fabric glue to hold things and make it easier to sew later.

    Step 4

Sew ribbon on both sides over the point the twine meets the felt.

    Step 5

Embroider the numbers on the right hand side.

  • Step 6

The beads were keen to weigh the whole thing down so I added a piece of thin card behind the ladder.

  • Step 7

Make it into a page which for me meant adding a backing with interfacing and inserting eyelets.
