I will teach you the basic melt and poor soap method in your own kitchen. Some Basic Imformation. Your mold can be any kind as long as it can handle the heat that your melted soap makes. Your fragrance can be an essential oil or fragrance oil. The difference is that essential oils or all natural, so the fragrances or limited as they only come from plants in nature. For example you can get vanilla in this oil. The Fragrance oils come in many smells as they are not organic. For example you can get chocolate chip in this oil. Your soap base can come in many varieties from the basic glycerin base to goat’s milk base. If you really want your soap to be extra good for your skin get something other then glycerin base. Your colorant has to be soap coloring not food coloring as food coloring will fade over time. Additives are stuff like skin safe herbs or spices. There is no limit to what you can create with additives. All this stuff you can get online and some at your local craft store.

Instructions

First gather your ingridents. For this recipe you have all the options for your fragrence, mold, soap base, colorant, and additve.

  2. Small gedc2766 1274211677

Cut out to squares in your soap base and put it in your microwave safe bowl, I used a measuring cup. (Some soap bases come in big blocks and don’t have lines for the squares. If that’s the case just eye it.

  3. Small gedc2740 1274211862

Microwave it for 30 second intervals. Dont let it boil or all the good stuff steams out.

  4. Small gedc2768 1274211956

Add your color and fragrence of your choice in the microwave safe bowl. The color and fragrence is as dark and strong as you want it to be.

  5. Small gedc2770 1274212070

Now add whatever additive you have in to the microwave safe bowl. Stir well all your ingredients with the knife you used to cut your base. If your mixture starts to harden put it in the microwave for a couple of seconds or until melted again.

  6. Small gedc2772 1274212267

Poor your mixture into the mold slowly and spritz with the alcohol in the spray bottle. Wait for it to harden then carfully push out of the mold. if it wont come out put it in the freazer for a few miniutes.

Wrap in plastic wrap to keep it fresh. I used a heat gun to make it look like that. There you have it you just made a basic melt and poor soap. If you have any questions just ask.
