Barbie Shoe Earrings

I tried making these today. I put glue on the shoes and caked it with glitter. I shook them to make sure that all of the excess glitter came off, but every time I handled them, I got glitter on my hands. I really don't want to wear them and risk getting glitter all over my neck and ears. I tried spraying an adhesive on them, but they only got really bubble and clumpy doing that. How can I go about making these and avoid the mess?

i Love these , i am just having a hard time finding barbie shoes cheap , but hopefully I will have some luck at garage sales and such this summer , and then I can make some cool shoe earings, i love the sparkley ones
