You Will Need (4 things)
- Fabric
- Snaps
- Suspender Clip(s)
- 1" Bias Tape Maker
Steps (14 steps, 20 minutes)
-
1
Gather your materials: I use sew on snaps, but only because I don't have a snap press. I like to use safety pins and suspender clips as fasteners.
-
2
Cut 2 inch wide strips of cloth length can be anything; I like around 13 - 14 inches long.
-
3
If you have a 1ich bias tape maker: (if you don't skip to step 5)
Send the strip of fabric through, ironing as you go -
4
Then fold that strip in half and iron again
-
5
If you don't have a bias tape maker, fold your strip in half and iron
-
6
Open the strip up, and fold the sides in to the middle line and iron
-
7
Then fold the strip back in half with the raw edges inside, and iron one more time
-
8
After you have your strips ironed, go back and fold in about 1.2 inch on each end and iron, the fold everything back up again.
-
9
Sew a straight line down the middle of each strip
-
10
Sew your snaps at each end. I like to leave between 2 or 4 inches between the snaps so that it can fit around a variety of toys and fasteners.
-
11
Use the tethers to keep track of hats on a windy day:
-
12
Or to make sure the paci doesn't fall to the car floor (that's just a hair tie wrapped around the handle)
-
13
Suspender clips can go on almost everything

Another way to attach tethers is to wrap them around and then fasten them to themselves!
