Archie's Multicoloured Birthday Cake

A deceptively plain looking traditional birthday cake for a 1 year old boy!
The cake was made using a basic cake recipe and coloured highly using Americolor gels. It was over 5 inches high and was held together with purple buttercream and then wrapped in fondant. His name was punched out using letter cookie cutters and I made the bunting using scraps of felt and bamboo skewers. The teddy bears and other adornments were purchased separately by his parents but they fitted brilliantly! it says 5 hours, but thats just cooking time really as I baked them all separately, then they had to cool overnight, make the buttercream, ice it and take it on the 3 hour journey to the party! Yeah it was a 3 day epic!!
