Apple Pie Jars

These Apple Pie Jars are just so much easier and quicker to make and it still tastes like a slice of the real deal.

Make-ahead friendly recipe (add the whipped cream and nuts just before serving)

You Will Need (10 things)

  • ½ cup Tennis Biscuit(s) , roughly chopped {or your favorite biscuit/cracker/cookie}
  • ¼ cup Butter
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 cup Apples , cored and peeled, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Ground Almonds
  • Whipping Cream , to top
  • Pecan Halves , to top

Steps (2 steps, 45 minutes)

    DIRECTIONS:

    1.) Divide the chopped Biscuits between 4 serving jars or bowls.
    2.) Melt the Butter, Honey, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Salt over low heat in a medium saucepan.
    3.) Add the Apple to the saucepan and stir to cover - simmer over low heat for 20 - 25 minutes or until the Apple is very tender.
    4.) Remove from stove - stir in the Ground Almonds - spoon, with the syrup, into the jars/bowls over the biscuits.

    5.) Top with Whipping Cream and Pecan Nuts.

    Leave to stand a few minutes in order for the syrup to soak into the biscuits.
