You Will Need (5 things)

  • 30 cm 4mm Curb Chain
  • 2 x 4 mm Cord Ends
  • 1 x pebeo setacolor Fabric Paint parma violet
  • E6000 Glue
  • 2 mm Waxed Cotton Cord white

Steps (9 steps, 40 minutes)

  1. 1

wash with warm water and soap 3 yards of waxed cotton cord.
Once dried the wax will be mostly gone and the cord will look thicker and rounder.

  2. 2

Fold the cord in half and make the 4 bights plait turk's head knot... it's easy, just follow the arrows...

  3. 3

un-tight the knot a bit, to give it the messy look.

  4. 4

Mix a hazelnut size of fabric paint with few spoonfuls of water, and stir well.
Make a test try on a small piece of cord, and if you like the color, dip the knot and part of the cords onto the mix.

  5. 5

    hang it to dry

  6. 6

If you want a deeper color on the knot, once dry, dip it again and let dry again (this will make the process a little longer).

  7. 7

Now open the knot by moving the cords just a little, to show the ombre effect of the dye.

  8. 8

cut the ends of the cords at you're desired length and by using a toothpick and a drop of glue, slip the cords into the cord ends.

  9. 9

Insert the chain on both parts onto the cord ends ... and wear it in public!
