Description

I needed a little something-something for a special outfit, so I finally decided on making a fascinator thingie. :D I'm quite surprised how easy it was, though I had some trouble at first...

Instructions

  1. First, form a little teardrop from a circle of ( black ) foam by cutting into a circle, sliding the sides onto eachother and then cutting to shape.

Then we need to cover the foam, I used satin. Since the shape isn't really easy, I started at the tip, pinching the fabric so there aren't any dents, working my way to the back. There, I took all the fabric that was "in the way" and created a fold from the highest point down.

First I handstitched the fabric on, just to make sure it will look ok in the end.

    Sew! x)

Now it's all about decoration. I decided on a little veil made of tulle first. Cut a square, ruche up one side and curve the remaining edges. If you want to, you can sew around the edge with a zig-zag stitch.

I added a feather and a sew-on element I got at a yard sale (?), added a hair clip to the back et voilá!!! :D

You could sew little beads to the tulle or something. :)
