If you haven’t used one before, it is a good idea to check the instruction leaflet included with your beadloom kit to familiarise yourself before starting. *At some point you will run out of thread. To end your present thread, knot the excess to the outer loom thread, sew back through a few rows to secure. To add a new piece, add it to the outer loom thread as you did to begin with in step 2, a couple of rows back from where you finished. Instructions

Cut 14 x 48cm lengths of thread. Knot 1 end of the bundle of threads and separate into 2 halves. Place the knot under the spool head on 1 spool. Tighten the wing nut slightly but so you can still turn the spool. Separate each thread into position using the separator coil. Keeping the threads parallel and taught, wind the spool (away from the loom) until you have about 10cm of thread left after the spool head on the opposite spool. Tighten the first spool head completely. Pull the threads tight and knot under the spool head on the second spool. Secure your knot under the screw head and wind until the threads ‘ping’ when tapped. Tighten the wing nut.

This bracelet design is made up of random rectangles so your design will be unique. If you want it to be exactly the same as the one featured, follow our diagram (Fig.5). Prepare a needle with about 150cm of beading thread and tie to the outer loom thread furthest away from you, closest to the spool without the excess threads. Pick up 13 rocailles of your choice and pass the needle UNDER the loom threads. Push the rocailles up into the gaps between the threads and pull the thread taut while you hold the rocailles in place with one finger. Pass the needle back through the rocailles, OVER the loom threads. Repeat for each row either with your own design or following our pattern.* Your piece should be about 15cm in length.

Once your design is complete, knot the excess beading thread to the outer loom thread, close to the last row of rocailles. Sew back through a few rows to secure. Trim spare thread. Unwind the spools and release the loom threads. Undo the knots. Double knot the threads in pairs close to the last row of rocailles. Weave each loose end individually back through the design until they are all hidden. When doing this, try to weave through different rocailles each time or you will have trouble passing the needle through.

To make the fastening, prepare your needle with about 1 metre of beading thread. Tie to the outer loom thread and weave through until you come out of the sixth rocaille in (pointing towards the 7th) on the first row added. Pick up 8 rocailles, 1 10mm bead, 12 more rocailles, 1 8mm bead and 2 more rocailles. Excluding the last rocaille added, pass your needle back through all the beads added. Entering at the eighth bead, weave your thread back through the bracelet body to the outer loom thread and knot to secure. Weave excess thread through the body. To make the fastening loop, prepare your needle as before. Attach and weave through to the sixth rocaille in the same way, on the opposite side to your fastening. Pick up 28 rocailles. Enter at the eighth bead and finish as you did with the fastening.
