Costumes aren't just for movies
Its cheap because I got the fabric second hand. I wanted to do a version of Colleen Atwood's dress from Alice in Wonderland the one with the big blue flower, it was tricky tho with a big bust. I just used materials I had already, the blue was non stretch and the black was stretch so, you can imagine the troubles. I just cut strips and attached them for the top, cut a large rectangle for the bottom and a longer rectangle with the see through stuff over top. It is gathered a little bit but I would have liked to gather it more. Mostly these are rectangles sewed together than I attached an elastic at the waist on the inside and used undergarment elastic for the top of the bust. It is just cinched together with a brooch pin and dangled a long ribbon. I haven't worn it anywhere, it looks like bridesmaid or prom, I'm 25 I didn't feel like my university graduation was the place for it lol another one for the closet.
