I made these as best friend keyrings for a friend who loves Adventure Time. These could just as easily be made into brooches, tree decorations, or even quirky necklaces. :) I do not own the rights to these characters - this is just fan art. Please visit my blog at ld-p.blogspot.com :)

Instructions

  1. Small p1120379

Cut your string into eight pieces. I made mine about 10cm each, but that depends how long you want your limbs to be. They can also be cut later.

  2. Small p1120384

Paint four of your strings flesh colour, and four the colour of the felt you are using for Jake. Wait for your paint to dry.

  3. Small p1120900

    For Finn:

  4. Small p1120386

    Sew face onto head.

  5. Small p1120389

Add two tiny seed beads for eyes.

  6. Small p1120393

    Stitch on a mouth.

  7. Small p1120395

Attach shorts to t-shirt using a small amount of glue.

  8. Small p1120396

Add some tiny stitches along the top of the shorts to secure them. Do this on both the back and front.

  9. Small p1120400

Add some glue to the end of each arm and each leg. Stick the pieces of flesh-colour string in place. Allow to dry.

  10. Small p1120406

Stitch around pants in blue, joining the two body pieces. Catch the string legs in between your stitches when you stitch the bottom of the legs, securing them.

  11. Small p1120410

Stitch around the shirt, again securing the string-arms. Add stuffing and close.

  12. Small p1120414

Glue a small piece of ribbon, folded in half, to the back of the head.

  13. Small p1120418

Sew your head pieces closed, catching the body between the pieces at the neck.

  14. Small p1120427

    Add some stuffing and close.

  15. Small p1120656

Cut your arms to the length you want them.

  16. Small p1120657

Add two dots of glue to attach your felt hands.

  17. Small p1120668

Stitch around the hand pieces to secure.

  18. Cut your legs to the length you want them.

  19. Add two dots of glue to attach your felt feet.

  20. Small p1120670

Stitch around the foot pieces to secure.

  21. Small p1120892

Add a keyring through the ribbon loop at the top of the head.

  22. Small p1120899

    For Jake:

  23. Small p1120675

Sew the larger black eye pieces onto the head.

  24. Small p1120862

Sew the smaller white eye pieces on top of the black eyes.

  25. Small p1120864

    Sew on the chin.

  26. Small p1120867

    Sew on the muzzle.

  27. Small p1120870

    Sew on the nose.

  28. Small p1120871

Use a small amount of glue to attach the head to the body.

  29. Small p1120880

Secure the head to the body using small stitches.

  30. Small p1120882

Stick the string arms and legs to the back of the body using a small amount of glue.

  31. Small p1120884

Attach a small loop of ribbon to the back of the head using some glue.

  32. Small p1120886

Stitch the front and back of the body together.

  33. Small p1120887

    Add stuffing and close.

  34. Small p1120889

Cut limbs to the length that you want them.

  35. Small p1120890

Use a small amount of glue to attach the hands and feet to the ends of the arms and legs.

  36. Small p1120891
