A super cute and easy crochet project to make your books look like Adventure Time ready!
I love how this cover came out looking like something you would actually see in the show, or possibly even in Harry Potter. It’s got a very whimsical look to it and I should make more crochet covers for different things in the future, because this is adorable. I will say that it may seem like a lot of work, but it’s easy and it flies by. The most tedious bit is actually weaving in all of the ends when you’re done because there are so many.

  • How to make a book cover. Adventure Time Inspired Turtle Princess Book Cover - Step 1
    Step 1

    Cover:

Ch 3, sl st to first ch to create loop

ch 3, count as first dc, dc 6 times into loop, sl st to top of ch 3 space to connect (6)

ch 3, 2 dc in each st (12)

ch 3, *1 dc, (3dc) in next st* repeat all around (24)

ch 3, *3 dc, (3dc) in next st* repeat all around (36)

break off and weave in ends
For half hexagons just cut the pattern in half

    Lining:
Sc all around with gold/yellow color.

    Construction:
Sc all of your pieces together with your gold yarn whenever you figure out what pattern they’re going to take. You might end up having to do this for each individual side, I did for some, but on my initial go I did my best to get everything at least connected so that there weren’t random pieces missing. Then I went back and finished each individual side.

You can choose to connect your cover to your book by whatever means you like, but I just crochted chains to the inside of the cover until it reached all the way across and would hold onto the inside of my book. If you’re just looking for it to cover your book though you could sew on a button and just crochet a loop for the button to grab on to.

*To get the correctly sized cover for my book I made 8 full sized hexagons and 6 half hexagons. Your needs might be different.
