I use this pattern to teach knitting and all of my students have been able to learn the techniques AND finish the headband in the 2 hours provided. This is the perfect project for anyone trying to learn how to knit.

Description

I use this pattern to teach knitting and all of my students have been able to learn the techniques AND finish the headband in the 2 hours provided. This is the perfect project for anyone trying to learn how to knit.

Instructions

  1. Small 104751 2f2014 10 09 163942 knitmid

    Cast on 8 stitches Knit in garter stitch (knit all stitches) for about 40 rows

  2. Measure piece on your own head by stretching the headband and seeing if it fits nicely around - it should tight! Bind off

  3. Sew ends together with your tapestry needle

  4. Take a long piece of yarn in a second colour and pinch part of your headband together width wise, wrap the yarn around a few times to make a pinch in the centre of the headband. Cut and tie this piece to itself to hold in place
