Step 1
Gather your supplies to create this elephant canvas.
Step 2
Apply your gray paint evenly over your canvas. Allow the first coat to dry. You can also use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process.
Step 3
Apply a second coat (or third if you need to) for a flawless finish.
Step 4
While your canvas is drying, this is a great time to start preparing your other materials. Download and print the Elephant Stencil on cardstock paper.
Step 5
Cut out your elephant outline.
Step 6
Using your gold glitter scrapbook piece, place it glitter side down on a flat surface. Depending on if you want your elephant to face the left or right on your canvas, place the elephant cutout on the gold paper accordingly. Using a pencil, trace the elephant on the back of the paper.
Step 7
Cut out your soon to be gold elephant.
Step 8
Take your hold punch and punch out circles from all four shades of blue paper you decided on. I cut two rows of circles and had plenty to use on the canvas!
Step 9
Flip your gold elephant over and apply the mounting tape. Cut small squares to apply to the back of the elephant.
Step 10
Peel off the backing of the mounting tape. This will give your elephant a 3D look on the canvas!
Step 11
Press your elephant onto your canvas carefully! Depending on which way you want your water effect to go, place your elephant accordingly.
Step 12
Time to start creating your water using the circles! Place a very small dot of glue (starting at the elephant's trunk).
Step 13
Apply your blue dot on top. Continue this process alternating blue colors.
Step 14
Be creative with this part and remember it doesn't have to be perfect!
Step 15
To add glitter to a few circles, place a dot of glue on top of the darkest blue circles.
Step 16
Cover the dot of glue with fine blue glitter. Shake the excess glitter onto a piece of paper once you are done.
Step 17
Use a Q-tip to gently remove any glitter that remained on the canvas.
Step 18
Your elephant canvas is finally complete for you to display or give as a gift!
