Cornmeal, White, Black

Step 1
RND 1: With cornmeal, make a magic ring of 8 sc, or ch 2 and work 8 sc in 2nd ch from hk, join with sl st to first sc.
RND 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc throughout), 1 hdc in same st as joining, 2 hdc in next sc and in each sc around, join with sl st in top of ch 2. (16 hdc)
RND 3: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st as joining, *1 hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next, rep from* around, join. (24 hdc)
RND 4: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st as joining, *1 hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, rep from* around, join. (32 hdc) Fasten off cornmeal, attach white.
RND 5: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st as joining, *1 hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, rep from* around, join. (40 hdc)
RND 6: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st as joining, * 1 hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, rep from* around, join. (48 hdc) Fasten off white, attach black.
RND 7: Ch 2, 1 hdc in next hdc and in each hdc around. Fasten off black, attach delft blue.
RNDS: 8-12: Work even on 48 hdc. Fasten off blue attach cornmeal.
RNDS 13-16: Work even. Fasten off cornmeal at end of rnd 16, attach black.
RND 17: Work even. Fasten off black, attach white.
RND 18: Work even. Fasten off white, attach delft blue.
RNDS 19-22: 1 hdc in each hdc around, join.
Rnd 23: Work 1 sc in each hdc around, join, fasten off. -
Step 2When I watched the Swedish olympic team (last winter) enter the event, I went nuts over this hat! It was crocheted and not knitted, like the other team hats. So...I had to have one. I worked a while and eventually came up with this version of my own.

Step 3What I really liked about these hats is that they actually did have that "slouchy" part in the back. The whole team was just spectacular when they walked out onto the floor! These colors together are so beautiful too!
