Home Vacation Swap

This is my first time hosting a swap. Please help me if I'm doing something wrong!

SIGN-UP DEADLINE:
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29, 12PM EASTERN TIME ZONE

SEND-OUT DATE:
FRIDAY, JULY 29

NEWBIES ARE WELCOME!

Travelling is so expensive, so I thought we could all take a little vacation through each other!
We would each represent where we live and swap items that are found in our areas, educating each other so it's like we've all been there!
Items should represent your area specifically and shouldn't be easily found in your partner's area. Items to include:

-1 dried flower/leaf
-2 photos, 4x6 at least
-1 postcard
-Candies
-Handmade "trinket" representing the area

The "trinket" could be anything- a magnet, keychain, notebook, ornament, etc.
There are bunches of ways to dry or press a flower or leaf. I'm not sure of the mail's policies on these items going in and out of the country, so be sure to check with your post office and inform your partner of their rules.
Please don't forget to include a letter talking about what people in your area do for work and recreation as well as places you'd recommend visiting.
Feel free to throw in anything that suits your fancy.

NEWBIES-
Your package MUST be sent out AND received before your vet partner sends theirs out. Your send-out date is no later than July 29th, unless otherwise discussed with your vet. Vets paired with newbies, your send-out date is completely flexible.

Provide the following information:

Location:
Ship International?:
Newbie or Vet?:
If Vet, would you pair with a Newbie?:

PARTNERS PARTNERS PARTNERS!

Nikki and Lisa
Ursula and Mary
Ariel and Sally
Essex Debs and Lacey
Kasia and Dragonfly

Rawr.Rawr.x- We have an odd number. I would be 100% willing and glad to do two of these swaps, including a slightly late one with you, since you wanted someone who can send late. I know I am not from Europe, as you prefer, but neither are any of the newbies who signed up. Let me know!

This is an awesome idea! I'd love to do this but I'll be away from the 23rd of June until the 18th of July.

Hmm...well the send-out isn't until July 29th and you could always prepare your things ahead of time if needed. Just a thought! =)

I will think about it because I already have a swap lined up for when I'm back =]

*edit* if I get paired up with a newbie that would be ideal because they have to send first, then the extra week may give me the time I need to finish everything. What do you think?

How would I dry a flower/leaf?

Edit Delete

@ nikki: Just take a thick book and put the flower somewhere in the middle between the pages. And then leave it there for a few days.

So there's no "local" candies, would Canadian candies work?

@Lacey- Just wait and see who your partner is. That way you'll know if they can et that candy where they're from. I know decent, moist maple cookies at hard to find here!
