For some more examples, here's a breakdown of singular elements of The Wizard of Oz.

*Witches *rubies/ruby slippers

*little black dogs(Scotties, Cairns{like the dog in the film}, mutts, doesn't matter)

*scarecrows(Autumn is upon us, these suckers are all over craft stores, lawn and garden stores, even drugstores)

*robots(The Tin Man, and Tick Tock)

*Steampunk(yep. Go back and watch the movie, or Return To Oz, then tell me it's not steampunk)

*Lions. And for that matter, tigers and bears, ^.^

*Poppies.

*winged monkeys(those suckers used to scare the crap out of me. But since seeing Wicked, I feel sorry for them.)

*Magic wands, sparkly crowns, bubbles, pink frou frou dresses

*RAINBOWS

*Bluebirds

There are also a LOT of colors involved! Yellow, for the road, emerald green for the emerald city, red for the ruby slippers, blue or blue and white checked, for Dorothy's dress, Black and green, for the wicked witch of the west/Elphaba, pink (or blue, from Wicked) for Glinda/Galinda...And rainbows of course.

I searched Wizard of Oz on Etsy today, and found some amazing ideas. One person had a bow that had rainbow, red sparkly, and blue and white gingham ribbons. There are tons of things you can do with papercraft, bottlecaps/scrabble tiles, resin creations, etc. You can print off pictures from Photobucket, cut them out, layer them, or whatever, and attach them to other things. I wish I had access to those kinds of media, I'd love to do some of the resin things, or tiles.
