hey guys and galls , so I'm sure brits on this site have a common problem. with so many different international users on the sight post and packing has become a nightmare. so if you wanted to do a brit to brit swap Ive stared this swap board. Only swaps from Uk to Uk residents only and to save on post and packing. swaps are great fun and a rising trend so If any body wants to do a brit to brit swap here is a good place to start Happy

I've never done a swap before, but I'll do one, especially if it's in the UK! Happy

There's normally an option on the swaps here to say if you can afford to post out of your country or not - keep an eye out for it. If people are not specifying, you can always let them know when you sign up on the board Happy

Hi Hannah-the art journal page New Year swap is a single sheet of paper and the international posting for this from the UK is 97p.
Inchies swap can be achieved for the same price.I also partner this swap to be geography specific.
Swap hosts do consider distant when partnering. You can always let the swap hosts know your requirements as Gigi suggests.
I'm English but live in the US.I've swapped all over the world to Scotland,England,Mexico,Australia,Serbia,South Africa and Canada not bad in a 2 year time span.
If you plan carefully any swap can be achieved in a light-weight,post friendly fashion.

Posting abroad from the U.K. is actually pretty cheap. I've sent loads of stuff to the U.S. and it only costs a couple of quid. I sent a bag all the way to the Philipines and it was only a quid and change.
If you keep stuff lightweight and refrain from adding loads of non-crafted stuff you can post anywhere cheaply and then there's no need for exclusivity on swap boards.

I agree with the above. If people were normally this area-specific, I would never have gotten into swapping in the first place--there is nobody in Israel who swaps around here, and I'm not so fluent that I can find them in Hebrew-speaking craft boards!

I haven't noticed the difficulty in swapping only UK... and like Laurel said it's not THAT expensive. I sent a parcel just under 1kg to Sug in Texas for £5 and some change...

It's only slightly cheaper to send something similar within the UK, as far as I am aware. I find sending abroad more exhilirating!!

Agreed with Lolly.bot. One of the main reasons I swap is because I like sending parcels to/ receiving parcels from other countries! It's more exciting Happy

You can join any swap, and request a partner in UK or Europe.
Strangely, if you send a small item from UK to Europe, it can sometimes be cheaper than sending the same within the UK.
But the best thing about the swaps on this board is that they are international, it's fun to receive parcels from other countries, make friends with people in far-off places who have different ideas and techniques, and different craft supplies. You can agree to keep the swap small and lightweight, and postage should not be too much of an issue.
