Hmm... my dad almost never has that issue. He does clean them a lot... and changes the earrings often. Every once and a while he has that issue and cleaning with hydrogen peroxide usually takes care of it. You just have to be sure to clean your ears as well as the earrings (which most people forget) and you should be fine.

Don't worry, it doesn't smell enough for other people to be able to smell them. The smell(if you have any at all) is caused from dead skin cells building up on and around the plugs. You may also see some white stuff; that's the dead skin cells. Just make sure to clean them regularly with hydrogen peroxide whenever and just with soap and water while you're in the shower. But don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal.

It's still getting used to being stretched that far. Also, if you washed it with warm water, the warm water makes your body expand every so slightly. If you're going to try to put them back in after cleaning, I would suggest somehow running some cold water onto your earlobes, that way your skin will constrict and the hole will be a little larger and easier to get the plug back into.

ok. im going to give it some time to heal and try to stick it back in in a couple days. i just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything going on that i should worry about.

The only reason they smell is because your ears are trying to heal themselves. I'm going through that right now because I just stretched my ears to seven sixteenths.

My boyfriend has his ears up to one and a fourth not to long ago and they never smelled. Just some dead skin. I think they gave up trying to heal themselves. And my ears bled once too and I was in school and I started to freak out a little bit, but it was fine.

If you want to go big, I wouldn't really worry about anything. Except for jobs because some people wouldn't hire you because of that.

Oh,and one last thing, Vitamin E helps skin heal, so you could buy some gel tablets at a health store, poke a hole in them, and put the oil on your ear.

That's good, the oil will also help if you ever get wood plugs. It will help with putting them in.
