Please help :) acrylic paint brands

My boyfriend loves art, but hasn't been able to afford supplies for awhile. I plan on buying him some for Christmas. I asked what his favorite art supply is and he told me he likes acrylics on canvas. Does anyone know of good brands to use? Average price ranges? Whether sets or individual products are better deals? I would like something nice, but only have so much money to spend. Any insight would be great.

I like folk art paint , the craft stores sell them fairly cheap and you can even get metallic colors. I did go over board last year and bought the luminere line from jaquard, I believe thats the name...works on fabric, paper, metal, concrete and wood however it is super pricey.worth every penny if you can pick up a jar.
