Diagonal grain line on my fabric, help???

Hi,
I just bought some fabric that is great for a semi-smart tunic pattern I have, but of course patterns always have that arrow showing the way the grain should run, this fabrics grain is diagonal, does this mean I should set the pattern diagonally on the fabric???

Are you sure the grain is diagonal??? Not just a diagonal pattern on the material?
I've been dressmaking for many years, and never come across fabric with diagonal grain...
What kind of weave is the fabric?

never heard of fabric with diagonal grain too... are there thin "ribs" on the right side of your fabric that go diagonally? maybe it is a twill or denim weave, then your grain is with the selvage!

Hi,
I thought the front and back of the fabric were the same, but although the front is diagonally ribbed the back is normal horizontal grain, there is no pattern just texture so it was hard to tell! Thx for the replys, I am a bit of a newbie to this sewing biz if u couldn't tell! :-D
