man satchel

You can try purchasing a messenger bag at (they have them at walmart for a nice price) that you can dress up with patches, paint or whatever. If you can sew then that's a plus, then you can make one yourself.

You can modify it to your liking, like maybe leaving the zipper part off.

I'm going to make the bag, so the zipper part will be definitely left off 'cause i'm not really good at sewing Happy still learning..
I'd like to buy an olive drab, sturdy fabric and a pop art fabric as lining...

Glad I could help. I have since gotten better with sewing on zippers, so I know they can be a bit of a headache to install which is why I suggested leaving it off. But good luck with your project and would love to see it when it's done.
