I'm making presents too. My budget is very limited (i'm currently unemployed) so I'm going to try and come up with ideas using the things I already have. My first gift is going to be an apron for my brother-in-law.

Not sure really...I'm thinking stencilled clothes will be a good idea this year, I can just go round charity shops and pick up tops for like £2 a go to stencil (I'm very poor right now). Not sure about my dad though. I'm thinking about making some of these awesome felt scarves for my mum and sister and friends http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/easy_fleece_scarves cause they look so pretty and easy to do! And there's a cheap fabric place near me so hopefully they'll only cost me a few quid each. Umm maybe button necklaces for some people again, they tend to go down well. Not sure about the boyfriend - maybe a few cool guitar picks, he keeps losing his. Everyone knows I'm poor though

I went to Boyes today and found this fleece fabric which has stars and moons and rockets all over, so I'm gonna make one of those fleece scarves but cut out lots of stars about three inches across and sew them all together like that =)

Hey Jessica B. and to others who dont really want christmas gifts for themselves. Why dont you suggest your family give a gift in your name?? Or give you a gift certificate for Kivi or World Vision or the like where you can help someone in need. I asked my family this christmas for that, I'm sure not all of them will listen...and some of them think I'm nuts. But, if even one person listens its a pretty cool gift, and you can get a lot for $20. Happy

I'm still getting my gift list together, but so far its going to include homemade flavoured olive oil, felted bowls, hats, and potentially a purse

I'm making an advent calendar for my boyfriend. All the little presents inside are going to be ornaments I made myself. They're going to go with another present that I'll bring him that day. There will be sort of a theme for each day (like one day I'll give him a little house ornament and that day I'll bring a ginger bread house kit for us to do together). One of the biggest present is going to be a black Christmas tree. I'm also making some cool ping pong ball lights and I'm making a sparkle ball for the topper. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I'm doing some other things for him too but this is probably the most involved. I'll post pictures of it after Christmas because I don't want to ruin the surprise Happy

Well so far I've made one and a half gifts. I've made my sister an apron from fabric I had lying around and I'm busy making my gran a photo frame from discarded packaging (cardboard box) and some rope. Will post some pics when it's done!

I'm making my mum some coasters for Christmas with patterns from urbanthreads.com. I bought tons of fabric though so might do them for my biological grandmother as well =) depends how long they take really. Unfortunately, I have everything to make them except a pencil. Balls.

I am halfway through my crimbo lot....having probs with the other computer at the min (using the fella's comp) so cant take any pics off :/

But as soon as I can, all will be revealed! Happy xx

im gonna make a piggy hat for my kid who is obsessed by pigs, a Christmas wreath for my step mom, either ceramic or stained glass or a mirror or sculpture for the rest lol...

i never buy gifts i prefer to make them myself its more personal, it look better and damn its a couple hundred less dollar for the capitalist world we live it, hurray for craft.
so i make them all year and give my favorite one at Christmas and after i got more space to make new craft isn't it just a perfect plan... i get praise as a bonus to its good for my ego.
